Exceptional Custom Millwork

Easy, one-call sourcing for complex millwork items like columns, pilasters, newels, balusters and more. Our specialty wood products are designed and engineered for beauty and performance.

fluted-doric-attic-c

Architecturally correct columns and pilasters

We offer columns and pilasters matching the classical orders, Greek and Roman Doric, Greek and Roman Ionic, Tuscan, Scamozzi, Corinthian and Composite.  Every column or pilaster is custom crafted specifically for each project, ensuring correctly proportioned columns and pilasters based on site conditions, not an arbitrary 2" incremental size.  This is critical for historic preservation or new period construction, where matching existing column sizes, or maintaining strict adherence to the classical orders is required.

Interior and exterior custom turned columns can be made up to 40" in diameter, and 21'-0 long, with smooth or detailed shafts.  Shaft detail can include flutes (Ionic or Doric), reeds, or cables, with or without classical entasis (tapering). Round or square columns, full, three-quarter, half, quarter, or anything in between.  Available in mahogany, cedar, cherry, walnut, poplar, maple, cypress, makore, and more.

newel-post-2

Custom turned newels and balusters

Custom turnings for balusters, newels, finials, urns, porch and roof posts. Simple smooth turnings, or with flutes, reeds, rope twists, barley twists, or custom carved elements.  We provide handrails and fittings, including volutes, turn-outs, goose-necks, and easings.  Handrails are available in a variety of styles and sizes for curved or straight applications.

Provide us with a sample, drawing, sketch, or photograph, and we can either match it exactly, or we'll suggest something similar that we have done before.  Once we understand what you are hoping to achieve, we can provide assistance in selection, focusing on designs and styles that complement the architecture.  If you are building a new period home, or you are working on a historic renovation, we may be able to guide you to designs that are appropriate for your project using historic pattern books and other reference materials we possess.  Please call us to discuss your needs, and mention any special requirements so that we may best advise you.
