Walter Chatham was an early participant in the environmental design movement. His firm has completed a number of projects that use state-of-the-art energy management and conservation strategies. For the past 30 years, Chatham has been associated with the Duany Plater-Zyberk Company, which founded the New Urbanism movement in the U.S. with the ground-breaking town of Seaside, Florida. Chatham has received numerous awards, including two National American Institute of Architects Distinguished Architecture awards.
